Ruqyah Water Preparation Kit

عدة الرقية

Ritual Supplies Featured In stock
$26.00 USD

This kit contains everything you need to prepare ruqyah water at home, correctly and safely: pure dried sidr leaf powder, a sealed food-grade bottle, and a printed recitation card with the verses in Arabic, transliteration and English.

Ruqyah is the recitation of the Qur'an and the du'as of the Prophet ﷺ over a person, or over water, seeking healing from Allah. It is not magic, not a charm, and not something only a specialist can do — the best ruqyah is the one you perform for yourself and your own family, with understanding and certainty.

The card walks you through the method the scholars describe: prepare the water, add the sidr, recite al-Fatihah, Ayat al-Kursi, the verses of healing and the three short surahs, blow lightly over the water, then drink from it and wash with it.

Valid ruqyah is with the words of Allah alone, in a language understood, believing that the cure comes from Allah. Anything else is not ruqyah.

This listing is one kit. Ruqyah does not replace medical treatment — see a doctor for illness, and be very careful of anyone who charges repeatedly or accuses you of magic.

Most people who come to us for ruqyah have already spent months — sometimes years and a great deal of money — with people who should never have been allowed near them. This kit exists for the opposite purpose: to put a correct, self-sufficient, free ruqyah practice back into your own hands, where the sunnah puts it.

What is in the kit

  • Pure dried sidr leaf powder. The lote leaf of the Qur'an, milled fine, with nothing added — the leaf the scholars' method uses, and the same leaf the Prophet ﷺ instructed be used with water for washing.
  • A sealed food-grade bottle. Sized for preparing and storing a batch of ruqyah water in the refrigerator.
  • A printed recitation card. The verses in Arabic script, with transliteration for those still learning to read Arabic, and the English meaning, in the order you recite them. Laminated so it survives being used beside water.

You supply the water. Everything else is here.

What ruqyah is

“And We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers.” (Qur'an 17:82)
“There is no harm in ruqyah so long as it does not involve shirk.” (Sahih Muslim)

Ruqyah is recitation for healing: the words of Allah, His names and attributes, and the authentic du'as of the Prophet ﷺ, recited over a person, over water or over oil, with the belief that Allah alone cures and that the recitation is a means He has honoured. The Prophet ﷺ performed ruqyah on himself and on others; he recited the mu'awwidhat — al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq and an-Nas — into his hands and wiped them over his body before sleep; and when he was ill near the end of his life, 'Aishah would recite them and guide his own hand to wipe over himself, because his hand was more blessed than hers.

Al-Fatihah itself was used as ruqyah by the sahabah: the narration of the companion who recited it over a chief stung by a scorpion, and the man recovered, is in Sahih al-Bukhari. When the Prophet ﷺ was told, he approved it and asked for a share of the sheep they were given.

The three conditions the scholars give

For ruqyah to be permissible, the classical scholars — following Ibn Hajar and others — set three conditions:

  1. It must be with the words of Allah, His names and attributes, or the authentic du'as of the Prophet ﷺ. Not invented incantations, not unknown names, not gibberish.
  2. It must be in Arabic, or in a language whose meaning is understood. So that neither the reciter nor the person can hide shirk inside words nobody comprehends.
  3. It must be believed that the ruqyah itself does not cure — the cure is from Allah. The recitation is a means, like medicine, and the heart must rely on Allah, not on the practitioner or the ritual.

If any one of these fails, it is not ruqyah. Keep these three conditions with you whenever anyone offers to treat you — they are the whole test, and they take ten seconds to apply.

The method the scholars describe

This is the practice transmitted for a person afflicted by sihr or disturbed by waswas, described by Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani in Fath al-Bari and reported from earlier scholars. It is a scholarly method, not a prophetic hadith, and it is honest to say so.

  1. Prepare. Make wudu. Choose a clean, quiet place. Remove from the room and from the house anything associated with shirk — amulets, talismans, statues worshipped, charms, “protection” strings, horoscope material. This step is not optional; ruqyah and shirk cannot share a house.
  2. Make the sidr water. Put a small handful of the sidr powder into the bottle or a clean vessel and add water. Let it stand a few minutes so the leaf softens. Seven green leaves is the number mentioned in the transmitted method; with powder, a small handful is used.
  3. Recite over it, close to the surface. Al-Fatihah. Ayat al-Kursi (2:255). The last two verses of al-Baqarah (2:285–286). The verses of sihr: al-A'raf 7:117–122, Yunus 10:79–82, Taha 20:65–70. The verses of healing: 17:82, 41:44, 10:57, 26:80. Al-Kafirun. Al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq and an-Nas, three times each.
  4. Blow lightly onto the water after the recitation — a breath with a trace of moisture, no spitting.
  5. Drink from it, three times or as convenient through the day, holding a clear intention and making du'a.
  6. Wash with the remainder — the face, chest, hands and feet, or the whole body, in a clean place. The traditional method advises that the washing water not go into a drain used for filth; pour it onto clean ground or into a clean basin where that is practical.
  7. Repeat. Refill and recite again daily for as long as is needed. Persistence is part of the practice — the Prophet ﷺ told the man whose brother had a stomach complaint to keep giving him honey even after the first three attempts.

Using ruqyah water day to day

Most people keep the bottle in the refrigerator, drink a small cup in the morning and evening, and use a portion for washing once a day or a few times a week. Recite afresh each time you refill; the blessing is in the recitation, not in the container. Some also prepare ruqyah oil — olive oil recited over in the same way — for massaging the chest, the forehead or an area of pain. The method is identical.

Alongside it, keep the daily adhkar: morning and evening remembrance, the mu'awwidhat before sleep, du'a on leaving the house, and salatul-fajr in congregation. The scholars are unanimous that protection is built by a life of remembrance, not by a bottle. The water is a means; the remembrance is the fortress.

What ruqyah is not — please read this

  • It is not a diagnosis. Nobody can look at you and tell you that you are bewitched. There is no test, no scan, no “reading” that establishes it.
  • It is not a substitute for medicine. Depression, anxiety, epilepsy, thyroid disease, anaemia, insomnia, psychosis, chronic pain and relationship breakdown all have medical and psychological causes that need assessment and treatment. Many people have lost years because a raqi told them their illness was sihr.
  • It is not a business. Charging escalating fees, selling repeated sessions, demanding expensive oils or “special” water, and insisting that only they can treat you are the classic signs of exploitation.
  • It never involves asking your mother's name. A genuine raqi does not need it. Asking for your mother's name to “check” you or to write an amulet is a hallmark of the sahir, not the Muslim healer.
  • It never involves amulets, knots, writing on paper to be dissolved and drunk, burying things, or contacting jinn. All of that is shirk or sorcery, whatever it is called.
  • It does not isolate you. Anyone who tells you that your family is doing magic to you, that your spouse has bewitched you, or that you must cut people off, is causing real harm. Leave.

If you recognise any of these in someone who has treated you, stop, and speak to a scholar of knowledge you trust. Our Ruqyah Handbook has a full chapter on identifying fraudulent practitioners, and we are always willing to give an honest second opinion on WhatsApp — including telling you that what you are describing sounds like a medical problem and not sihr.

Storage and care

Keep the sidr powder sealed, dry and away from light; moisture is what ruins it. Keep the bottle clean, rinsed with hot water between batches, and never use it for anything else. Prepare fresh water weekly rather than keeping one batch for months. Store the recitation card with respect — it carries the words of Allah — not on the floor, not in a bathroom, and not where it will be treated carelessly.

Frequently asked questions

Can I do ruqyah for myself? Yes, and you should. Self-ruqyah is the sunnah and the most reliable kind.

Can a woman do it while menstruating? The majority view permits reciting Qur'an from memory and making du'a; the card lets you follow along without handling a mushaf. If you are unsure, ask a scholar you trust.

Do I need the sidr? Plain water is valid for ruqyah. Sidr is the method the scholars transmitted, and it is included for that reason.

Can I recite in English? The Qur'an is recited in Arabic. Du'a may be in any language, and understanding the meaning is essential — which is why the card has the translation.

How long until something changes? Nobody honest can promise a timeframe. Some people feel calm immediately; others see nothing for weeks. Keep praying, keep your treatment, and do not pay anyone who guarantees results.

Is this kit halal to sell? Yes — it is sidr leaf, a bottle, and printed verses. We are not selling barakah and we are not selling a cure.

A final word

The most important thing in this kit is not the sidr or the bottle. It is the fact that you can do this yourself, in your own home, with your own voice, relying on your own Lord — and that nobody needs to stand between you and Allah for a fee. Learn the verses. Teach them to your children. Recite over your family. And when something is genuinely a medical problem, go to a doctor without shame, because that is also part of the sunnah.

May Allah protect you and your household from every harm, make the Qur'an a healing and a mercy for you, and keep your heart attached to Him alone. Amin.
