📖 Ruqyah Shar‘iyyah

In detail

Ruqyah is the recitation of Qur’an and authentic du‘a over a person seeking healing. Shekie Mutumba recites Al-Fatiha, Ayat al-Kursi, the last three surahs and the verses of healing, breathing over water or olive oil that you then use at home.

Common reasons people seek Ruqyah

  • Persistent anxiety, insomnia or disturbing dreams
  • The evil eye (al-‘ayn) and envy (hasad)
  • Unexplained illness where medical treatment has found nothing
  • Marital discord and family tension
  • A desire for spiritual protection before travel or a new home

Sessions run 45–90 minutes, in person in Kampala or by phone and video for those abroad.

🩸 Hijama (Wet Cupping)

In detail

“Indeed the best of remedies you have is cupping (hijama).” — Sahih al-Bukhari 5696

Hijama removes stagnant blood from specific points on the body. It is traditionally performed on the 17th, 19th and 21st of the lunar month, though it may be done at any time for genuine need.

What to expect

  1. A short consultation and blood-pressure check
  2. Cups placed on the sunnah points (the head, shoulders, upper back)
  3. Light superficial incisions and suction, 5–10 minutes
  4. Rest, dates and Zamzam water afterwards

All cups, blades and gloves are single-use and disposed of clinically. Fasting is recommended but not required.

🌿 Tibb an-Nabawi Consultation

In detail

Tibb an-Nabawi is the medicine of the Prophet ﷺ: a body of guidance about food, hygiene, sleep, fasting and natural remedies transmitted through hadith and practised by the early Muslim physicians — Ibn Sina, al-Razi and al-Zahrawi built upon it.

In a consultation the Sheikh reviews your habits, sleep, diet and spiritual state, then prescribes a simple regimen of blessed foods and recitations. He will always tell you to continue whatever treatment your doctor has given you.

🤲 Du‘a & Istikhara Guidance

In detail

Istikhara is not fortune-telling. It is a prayer the Prophet ﷺ taught his Companions for any significant decision. Shekie Mutumba teaches you the du‘a, explains what to expect and what not to expect, and helps you read your own situation with clarity and tawakkul.

🛡️ Protection from ‘Ayn & Hasad

In detail

The evil eye is real. The Prophet ﷺ said: “The evil eye is true, and if anything were to overtake the divine decree it would be the evil eye.” — Sahih Muslim 2188

This service establishes the daily adhkār of protection in your household, recites over your home or place of business, and gives you a written routine you can keep.

💍 Marriage & Family Harmony

In detail

Marriage difficulty is often spiritual before it is practical. The Sheikh meets with couples separately and together, works to remove what is harming the home, and gives concrete guidance drawn from the Qur’an and the example of the Prophet ﷺ with his wives.

What we will never do

These are the boundaries of this practice. If anyone offers you these things — here or elsewhere — walk away.

🚫

No amulets or talismans

Nothing is tied, worn, buried or hung. Protection comes from Allah through remembrance, not objects.

🚫

No asking your mother’s name

A genuine raqi does not need it. Anyone who asks is following the method of the saharah.

🚫

No stopping your medication

Treatment is part of tawakkul. The Prophet ﷺ commanded both tying the camel and trusting Allah.

🚫

No guarantees of outcome

The cure belongs to Allah alone. We recite, we strive, and we leave the result with Him.

🚫

No private rooms with non-mahram

Women are always seen with a mahram present, or by arrangement with a female assistant.
